Elanco Animal Health is a global research-based company that develops and delivers product and services to enhance animal health and production, based in Greenfield, Indiana. We value innovation, both in scientific research and daily operations, and strive to cultivate a collaborative work environment for more than 6,100 employees in more than 70 countries. Founded in 1954, Elanco is a division of Eli Lilly and Company. Our summer intern program offers undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to learn more about our company, their chosen career path, themselves, and industry in general. Roles are found in areas including research and development, sales, marketing and manufacturing. The 12-wk paid roles include a week’s long orientation and a fun-filled presentation week at our global headquarters, and running from mid-May to mid-August. As a courtesy, we find safe, affordable housing for the interns as well. We look for highly motivated and driven leaders, and those who want to enrich the lives of others through food and companionship. We also seek individuals with integrity, excellence and respect for people, as these are our company values. All eligible interns will be considered for full-time positions based on their performance over the course of their summer internship. Speaker Bio
Tom Heady currently works as leader—campus recruiting and on-boarding for Elanco Animal Health, Greenfield, Indiana, a division of Eli Lilly and Company. He has worked for Lilly since 1985. Tom’s career has been mainly in the human resources field, having worked earlier for Lilly in career development, corporate recruiting and line HR. He has also held roles as an alliance manager for the Pharmaceutical Delivery System division and as a project manager in Lilly’s Medical division. His initial assignment with Lilly was with one of its formerly owned medical device companies, Advanced Cardiovascular Systems (Santa Clara, California). Prior to working at Lilly, Tom began his career in HR with Hewlett-Packard in Palo Alto, California. In addition, Tom was a part-time instructor for the Indiana University School of Business from 1995 to 1998. Tom has a BS in management and an MS in counseling and personnel services, both from Purdue University
